Evil Power video

“The lyrics for the song Evil Power are about the Greek myth that Zeus created men to be good and peaceful and the god of war (Ares) influenced men to become murderous and jealous-hearted. Leading to the violent Iron Age of man.

Loosely based on the Moloch machine from Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. The video for the song depicts a conveyor belt of the macabre, where young maidens are chained and slaughtered by the minotaur one after the other. The minotaur removes the maidens’ throat (voice), feet (movement/progress), and heart (trust). A brutal commentary on systemic violence towards women.”

*The bloody gore in the video was created by an all-female special effects make-up team led by Cat Bernier (Willy’s Wonderland, Daylight Ends).

Directed by Ryan Oliver. April 2010.
